Who This Course is For

This course is designed for individuals who already understand the basics of solar installation and want to advance their knowledge of long-term microgrid operation and maintenance. Whether you’re a solar crew member, energy manager, or planning to support your Tribe’s energy infrastructure, this training delivers the tools to troubleshoot, respond, and lead.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this training program, you’ll learn the following:

Remote System Monitoring and Real-Time Diagnostics Learn how to use digital platforms and on-site tools to monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and prevent downtime.

Preventative and Corrective Maintenance Practice the inspections, tests, and repairs needed to extend system life and catch small issues before they become major problems.

Emergency Response Services and Protocols Train for blackout scenarios, system recovery procedures, and rapid shutdown situations. Know what to do when the system fails and how to bring it back online.

We highly recommend it as this course builds on the fundamentals taught in Solar Power 101: Microgrid Fundamentals. Our current courses are designed to operate as a two-part training program, but if you already have experience with solar installations, reach out, and we can help determine your fit.

Training is split between classroom instruction and live system walkthroughs at SolarTAC. You’ll work with actual diagnostic equipment and get practice responding to simulated faults and real-time system alerts.

Yes, that is the intention. A main aspect of our mission is to enable Tribal members to develop, run, and fully own their infrastructure. This training positions you for supervisory roles, field operations, or energy coordinator positions within Tribal governments or clean energy firms developed by you and other members.
